Today I figured I would spill the beans on how to build up a blog with out writing a word. Usually I start a blog off with the content library I keep in RSS REBOUND. Basically I have an install of Rss Rebound sitting around that I’ve loaded with articles, rss feeds, content, ads, etc…. all for the topics and keywords my white hat sites are on. Instant method of advertising.
Whenever I start a new site I pull the relevent feed in, but when I start a blog I pull that feed in to populate the posts.
10, 20, 30, etc… instant posts with advertising built in to where I need it to go.
Since with RSS rebound it’s not all just “snippets” but real content I’ve added in (or added to others rss feeds) the blog looks good.
Now it’s on to Digg. I add that blog into my profile at digg. Any “relevent” posts I find I just “blog it”. That does a few things:
1.) Sends a trackback to the persons blog I just blogged about – usually results in a link back in the comments and instant traffic.
2.) Gives me additional links in Digg.
3.)Â I get a reciprical digg or post back and new readers, comments, and link love.
Total time (not counting Rss Rebound which I work on daily in any case since it brings me in thousands of links a month) about 30 minutes.
I end up with a blog promoting my related ‘happy’ sites. I get lots of new inbound links, and I don’t have to write a single word if I don’t want to.
Hi
Love the above blog – wish I could fully understand it. I am a newbie – but not a total newbie – only half & half. Would love more instruction & detail on the above blog. If ever you’re looking for things to write about – I just gave it to you.
Clever Trick, Stupid Way of Explaining.
Can you explain things without confusing
newbies further?
I don’t know what you are talking about:,
trackback, pull in the feeds in websites,
pull in the feeds in blog posts,
additional links in Digg, reciprocal digg,
happy sites, unhappy sites, etc, etc,
And how did the thousands of links come
about in one month, you dolt!
Jesus,
I’m a dolt? I used all standard nomenclature for blogging – it’s something your going to have to learn on your own.
If you knew what a trackback was you would realize that the links come from there and from the digg pages
Learn a little about blogging and it will make sense…. I can’t teach everything here and I’m not about to start.
To learn more about blogging – check out blogsfortraffic.com or start searching for related training on youtube.
Blackhat,
OK, your a good dude. I will take your advice
and search for more training in blogsfortraffic.com
But in the meantime, what is a trackback? How do you send a trackback to the person’s blog you just blogged about? What are you talking about? I didn’t know you just blogged about another’s blog. When have you done that?
Since this is the integral part of getting thousands of links, could you show us Step by step, clearly, how the trackback process is carried out?
Just refrain from spouting off like the whole
world can understand you. Or are you thinking
your readers are advanced seo folks?
Why am I here, or even why is Genevieve Smith here, if not to learn? And when you said your not about to start teaching everything, fine, at least you could be more helpful.
If only you could add a few links, or take care to illustrate things a bit, when your explaining
things, then people don’t have to be confused, and could look up for more info from your resource links (not affiliate links).
Don’t go jumping into the deep end right away when you talk about things. If it’s too technical and cannot benefit newbies, don’t say it. Otherwise make it clear that your newsletter or blog is meant only for advanced marketers.
For example, you wrote:
“Now it’s on to Digg. I add that blog into my profile at digg. Any “relevent†posts I find I just “blog itâ€. That does a few things:”
What “relevent” posts? – from your blog? Why do
you need to “blog it” again? Did you say you just “blog it” inside Digg, after finding the relevant posts? Aren’t you supposed to say “bookmark it”, in reference to Digg? Nomenclature eh?
Your apparent attitude is like your feeding dogs with morsels of unwanted food from the table. Satiated and Full of utter contempt. And had your reply not come in such courteous manner, I’d have thought your that kind of person.
So please make this trackback process clearer. Your above post is just a vacant idea. There’s no way I can implement them:
1.) Sends a trackback to the persons blog I just blogged about – usually results in a link back in the comments and instant traffic.
- Can posting to Digg result in a trackback?
- When should you start blogging about another person’s blog?
- When you get a link back in the comments, that would constitute instant traffic?
- Then you’d have thousands of link back COMMENTS in one month? Are you sure?
2.) Gives me additional links in Digg.
- OK, this is quite clear, no questions
3.) I get a reciprical digg or post back and new readers, comments, and link love.
- Now where does a “recoprical” digg come about?
- Do people post about your “digg post”? Is this what a reciprocal digg about?
- Which is stronger in attracting link love? Trackback, or Digg? You have been talking about 2 things here, haven’t you?
When one is not clear about Trackback and you introduced Digg, makes things even more messy. I hope you see the viral confusion you can spark off in your readers heads.
Jesus,
I enjoy helping people, but I enjoy it more when they help themselves a bit as well.
A quick google search for “trackback help” would give you the first result – a wikipedia page all about trackbacks.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trackback
But I’ll sum it up for you. When you LINK to another blog you “PING” them telling them your talking about them. It usually appears in their comments after they approve it or automatically.
That comment is going to link back to you.
Since you did this particular process through digg – your also creating a new link on YOUR post to YOUR blog on digg.
That’s two links.
The person you blogged about is obviously active in digg. They MAY decide to return the favor and digg one of your posts.
That’s a possible 3 links.
That’s three places you will probably receive some traffic from.
My point (and I would never have been slightly rude had you not called me a dolt and then asked for help) is that those answers could have been figured out by you with a google search, some effort on your part, and some thinking. Do you think I “owe you” an expansion on a basic idea, using basic terms, etc…
I’m quite sure you didn’t go to digg, and make a blog post on someones digg post, you didn’t set your blog up in digg, and you certainly didn’t try and figure out what the words you didn’t understand meant. Instead you insult me and ask for help.
This is a “BLACK HAT” blog. I’m not going to teach every single thing mentioned – but your answers are all out there somewhere. Take the initiative and learn. Once you do that you will find that you actually learn a lot, get ideas of your own, and actually start making money from your websites.
If I give you an idea (and not a full blown report on things like we do sometimes in Other98percent where I assume your from) and you need more information you should attempt to not insult me in the request.
Trackbacks, pinging, etc… are common blogging terms and it’s really easy to find out what they mean if you don’t know.
Heck – you could even ask politely and I’d probably tell you.
Genevieve,
I do that quite often – if I did it for every post or idea I would quickly run out of “eating” and “sleeping” time.
We cover some of these ideas in other98percent.com – and the rest of the concepts can be found easily through there or a quick google search.
This blog is more for the ‘techie’ – it’s hard to do anything remotely black hat with out learning some of the techie stuff (o.k. a lot of it). If you have a specific question though I’d be glad to help.
Blackhat,
I didn’t insult you AND THEN asked for your help.
That wasn’t my intention!
I wanted you to write in a better way, in a more helpful way, next time.
You either can take that, or continue
to obsfuscate… which is insulting.
Now you know why you got a returning favor, in the first place.
But I thank you for taking the time to reply, and make me know some things I don’t already know about digg… and about your not wanting to teach everything, since this is a BLACKHAT blog.
Since I’m not a techie, I can’t know everything you’re talking, and IF you don’t owe your readers to expand on your writings, why are you here for? You might as well write on a non-blog.
So please leave some links next time you write, thank you, even if it’s back to articles in your own sites. That would’ve been great, I can tell you.
Ed,
I thought everything was pretty clear and any blogger who is serious about it should understand everything you said.
I actually read this yesterday and tried it for the first time.
I did it with an established blog that wasn’t getting enough traffic for me.
I have to admit I didn’t expect much. The topic is political (we’ve exchanged comments before on your independent blog, so thanks) and there is a lot of competition for traffic right now because of all the election stuff going on.
I did this 10 times, and It’s resulted in over 100 visitors and a number of comments and diggs. I think what is happening is that I’m getting diggs meant for the post I blogged about.
Fine by me.
Appreciate all your help! Keep it up.
Thanks for that – hey contact me through the independent blog. I think I know who you are and I’d love someone with a more conservative viewpoint to be a guest writer.
It will result in a decent amount of traffic – and your certainly welcome to link back to your blog as much as you would like.
The independent blog is for the political reality show and I’m just doing the politics thing to get it indexed. It’s amazing how well I’m ranking for the independents, and even some of the main candidates though.
Anyway – going to bed. Hope to hear from you and I hope you take me up on the guest author bit.
BTW – as those trackbacks get approved you will start to see even more activity…. especially since you write real content on a regular basis.
Genevieve – here you go:
http://blackhat-whitehat.com/blackhat/grey-hat-seo/a-follow-up-on-my-digg-2-blog-post/
Had a few extra minutes – hope it helps.
2 Comments up is an example of a trackback as well. I linked to my own blog in the follow up post and “pinged” myself. Look what it did…..
Pinging happens automatically with wordpress when you link to another place. That other place might not have the technology in place to recognize it – but most blogs do.
you know I didn’t understand some of this info at first I did take blackhat on several of his sites and went to work learning and understanding the areas that I didn’t know. Work pretty well for me. I did have to do some learning and thinking then I started to put it together.
I have plenty to still learn and I will however at the time it filled in some needed areas that I lacked in knowledge.
Thanks for the info it has and is allowing me to step forward to higher levels of knowledge.
A great bit of advice there with RSS Rebound. Invest a bit of time compiling a pile of content then get the automation to do it’s thing later on to reap the rewards.
What other social sites can use this technique with besides digg.com, can you please give me examples.
thanks a lot
Robert,
I’ll get that up in a day or so – not many ways this easy but there are some plug ins for firefox that make it easier.
Hey Blackhat,
I’m trying to find your thread on the WF. But I can’t locate it. You know, the one that has the 4 steps in it. You posted it on 11/20/07. Is it still in the WF? What heading is it under?
You can email me with the info, or I’ll check back here in a couple of days.
Thanks very much,
Jimmy
P.S. BTW, this little technique sounds perfect for me. Good stuff!!
Jimmy,
Not sure what your talking about
– There are only about a dozen posts here right now – just use the “previous” button and hit em all.
You might be talking about this one though:

Hey Again Blackhat,
I’m a little confused. Did you or did you not make the following post in the Warrior Forum:
Posted – 11/20/2007 : 00:43:48
________________________________________
Figured I’d pop this up instead of a lame wso on how to get instant traffic.
Note: You can use this concept with other networks than Digg.
Many of you have a digg account, if you don’t you are going to need to go sign up to get one. It’s Digg.com
You are going to need a blogger, wordpress, or a wordpress blog on your own domain for this to work. I recommend using your own installation of wordpress on your own domain.
Step one: Create a new blog. Do nothing else but set up your blog properly.
Step two: Make a post or two. That’s it. If you don’t have the ability to write well – that’s what article directories are for.
Step three: Go log into Digg.
Step four: Set up your profile to include the new blog you just made. Once logged into dig this is exactly where you go:
digg.com –> My profile –> Settings –> (sidebar menu) Blog Settings.
I’m assuming you can select the type of blog you have and follow the directions there. You should note that you can change your blog at any point in time.
Once you have filled that all in, navigate through digg to the category that closely relates to your blog.
Every single post you come across you have the option to “blog this”. That’s what you want to do over and over. Digg will automagically grab a snippet from the blog your “blogging about”. You can change the title and even add a sentence or two (a good idea).
You can easily create hundreds of new posts on your blog in a week, and start getting traffic from digg in the first few minutes.
There are some added bonus’s as well – you get links back (trackbacks) from the blogs you blog about (which results in more traffic), and of course the links from digg. If you change up some of the words you get a different “search result” set than the folks you are digging about.
It’s really easy to get a pr 4 this way very quickly along with a few hundred visitors a day from related blogs.
In a matter of days you can create thousands of links coming to your brand new blog, hundreds *or more* visitors per day, and……
•
• You can make as many blogs as you want and interchange them whenever you want through digg.
You can literally spend 1 hour a day just with digg and get a few thousand visitors or more per month with no unique content.
I’ll be glad to answer any questions you have if you leave a comment here:
Instant Link Love
It’s all pretty self explanatory though – just about any term you didn’t understand can be learned by learning more about blogging.

I hope you did, because that’s how I got here. I just can’t find the thread in the WF.
Thanks,
Blackhat,
Oh yes, before you ask… I did all the searches in the Forum. Still couldn’t find that post. I’m just interested in what other Warriors are saying. How they used this technique etc.
Oh, BTW, that link to the WordPress MU is great. Kinda bloggles the mind!!
Thanks,
Jimmy,
I did put that there – not sure if it’s still up, got banned, etc…
Lot’s of stuff over there pisses me off a bit – although it’s been a decent community for me over the years there are a lot of scams and “regular posters” that just keep it going. I’ve programmed for lots of folks there – and done other work for hundreds of the guru’s “who are making millions” that have a budget of 400 dollars for a big project…. need I say more?
Most of this stuff is simple – and just takes work. I have a hard time keeping up with all the newbie stuff there like the latest and greatest e-book.
Might want to look for my username “stma” if your looking for that particular thread.
My point up there isn’t to bash the WF – it’s not. My point (i’m tired – it’s late) is that it’s easy to get distracted and sent in the wrong direction there. An e-book, or secret tactic isn’t going to turn into money for you. Action will. Work will. Being creative will. Learning will. You get the drift….
Go sign up for other98percent.com and make sure you confirm the newsletter. Hopefully I’ll help get you (and others) on the right mind set if you read long enough and use your noggin. There is also a newsletter for this blog that concentrates on black hat stuff. I’ve got to give it some tlc and make the series longer, but I usually add to the series as I add to the blog so that takes time…. anyway —-
This blog, wickedfire, syndk8, etc… is enough to lead a horse to water (even a horse that doesn’t do black hat stuff).

@Yatrik
Hey thanks for that link. I also noticed that you were using this technique and it seems like it’s working for you. Nice job!
@Blackhat
I signed up for the other98percent.com. I have to say its provided me with some really great information. The type of information that anyone can apply… with a little hard work.
Thanks,
Blackhat
Great idea – just tried it – works very well !
Thanks a lot!
Nice information Ed .
