Randal over at 14th Colony recently put up an excellent article on Net Neutrality and how it’s not a good thing.  I know many of you aren’t into politics and probably don’t sit up at night wondering what Net Neutrality is.

In a nutshell it’s the concept of charging everyone the same rate for access to the net.  Randal gives a great example of what could happen to Google for example.

You, the mom and pop store, and the company you work for all deserve the same price for bandwidth.

Since it’s an election year we have quotes like this popping up all over the place:

“When you control the pipe you should be able to get profit from your investment.” -Sen John McCain

We do have some choices and since the primaries are happening now if you make your living on the internet this should be an important issue for you – go do your homework, I’m not going to tell you what to think.
