Spamming your own web 2.0 social applications, article directories, and blogs!

Many webmasters expend huge amounts of effort to spam (or add links) to popular web 2.0 applications. They find as time goes on that they are banned, or that new and improved ways of stopping them are added.  That means that unless your a programmer yourself and have the time and skill both to make semi automated (or fully automated) solutions for spamming the social networks your always doing it manually. When your links, posts, and comments get killed that really sucks since you probably spent hours.

There are some great benefits to having your links on popular sites – mainly PR rankings and ready made traffic. A little effort brings bigger results because your leveraging the efforts of all the users (and folks linking to) these popular sites.  Still – those hours you spent building up all those links were wasted when you got kicked off the site for spamming right?

Here is an alternative.  Start your own social network.  It’s simple really.  Use something like dolphin’s “FREE” social network application, or set up wordpress MU to appear to be a social ap where users can interact with one another.

Spend those “hours” getting a small amount of links coming into your application, making some real content, etc..  (dang that sounds “REALLY” white hat and a lot of work).  Well it’s not THAT much work, and it’s going to let you go a little black hat down the road.

You see search engines are used to seeing some spam inside social network sites.  Especially the ‘human reviewers”.  That means with just a small user base adding real content you can get away with a good portion of spamming profiles, links, etc..

Of course since you have access to the database you can spam pretty easily.

Elgg is even better than dolphin and much easier to deal with!

Pligg’s got it’s own issues that make it so I don’t like it…

phpdug is easier to set up, run, etc.. (and more bh opps) that pligg – but it’s got a few small programming glitches as well.

I’m personally waiting for the new version of elgg to come out.
